Kingdom | Our International Leaders

Our CA community desires to lead spiritually convinced and unconvinced people to complete commitment to Jesus Christ, both domestically and globally.

We believe that part of that calling is to partner in prayer and support with those from our congregation who have stepped out in faith to minister around the globe. This is a place where you can connect with our international leaders to hear what they are doing, see some of their pictures and read about their prayer needs.

The Russell Family - Tanzania

prussell91@earthlink.net

Peter and Tammy Russell, and their four children, Skyler (15), Chase (13) and twins Sianna (8) and Leighton (8) have been a part of the CA family since 1999.

The Russell family has lived among the Maasai people of Kenya for many years. Peter, a missionary kid himself, actually grew up on the Maasai Mara, spending his youth chasing elephants and tearing through the countryside on his dirt bike. The Russell children have all grown up in Africa, and actually consider it home.

The Russells are currently serving in Arusha, Tanzania They founded "Wild Hope International," an organization that facilitates ministry which values empowerment, transformation and community. The mission statement for Wild Hope International is "to empower emerging leaders through God's love to step into their destiny as children of God who will transform their community and the world".

Please pray for the Russells as they seek the LORD's wisdom, favor, and strategies to establish a firm foundation in the three areas He has called them to focus on:

  • Urban Poor - Empowerment projects initially targeting widows in the Unga slum of Arusha through discipleship and micro-enterprise training.
  • School of Ministry - Practical ministry training for both Tanazanian emerging leaders and visiting U.S. students.
  • Inter-Church Partnerships - Facilitating inter-church partnerships for mutual edification and breakthrough both within Tanzania and between the U.S. and East Africa.

The Russell family ask for prayer: "That we would keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of our faith. Each one in our family will face new challenges, and each will have new opportunities to trust that God is able, and to experience His faithfulness for our needs and the dramatic needs around us in Tanzania."

Young Life is active in all 50 states and more than 45 countries, reaching an estimated 1 million teenagers annually. Young Life International, which began in 1941, is a non-profit organization committed to making an impact on kids' lives and preparing them for the future.

Young Life leaders leave the comfort of their adult worlds and enter the arena of high school and middle school life. You will find Young Life leaders sitting in the stands at football games, walking the streets of inner-city neighborhoods, driving carloads of kids to the shopping malls or tutoring students in study centers after school. In fact, you will find them almost anywhere you can find kids. Young Life leaders model trust, respect and responsibility to their young friends, and they do it within a meaningful context, within the context of a teenager's world.

Carlos, Rossy, Christina, and Carla Montoya - Mexico

therockk@prodigynet.mx

Carlos and Rossy are our missionaries serving in Tijuana Mexico. CA has partnered with La Roca Ministries for nine years. Their heart to expand the Kingdom of God is manifested through church planting, discipleship, hosting short term outreach teams in their home, and bringing hope and care to those who struggle with addiction and abuse.

Carlos has successfully planted a church in the "Zona Norte" section of Tijuana, which is basically the 'red light district'. Carlos' philosophy is to, "Bring church to where the people are - the unclean and the unworthy - at their level". Carlos views church planting as an opportunity to give emerging leaders a chance to grow and many of his church leaders are graduates of the La Roca Drug Rehabilitation program.

The 35-acre La Roca Rehabilitation Ranch Outreach Program is located south of Tijuana. This ministry program reaches out to men who live on the streets, who are desparate, hungry, hopeless, and addicted to drugs and alcohol with no means of survival. It provides them a place to come and rehabilitate, and be introduced to Jesus Christ.

Brian, Kristin, Isaiah and Hope Albright - Los Angeles

brianalbright@empoweringlives.org

Brian and Kristin Albright have been part of the CA family since 1997. They serve with Empowering Lives International (ELI), a Christian non-profit organization that is working to alleviate poverty in East Africa. Strategically developed agricultural training centers, Christian schools, orphanages, HIV/AIDS awareness and health care instruction, as well as programs to reach alcoholics are part of an overall empowerment strategy. They rejoice in seeing people come to eternal life in Christ as they experience the amazing journey of spiritual, physical, and economic empowerment.

The couple served in Kenya 2004-06, working on the development of two ELI orphanages in the villages of Ilula and Kipkaren, outside the town of Eldoret, about 300 miles northwest of the capital city of Nairobi. In November 2006, the Albrights returned to the U.S. Brian is now the director of finance and operations for ELI in the U.S. office in Upland, California. Kristin is a part-time assistant to the international director. Brian and Kristin have a son, Isaiah, and a daughter, Hope.
